In addition to providing easy access to the latest criminal justice news and information, this site opens doors to the Authority's three major areas of operation: research, information systems, and federal and state grants.

The Authority's mission is to improve the administration of criminal justice in Illinois, and we believe an informed and involved public is perhaps our greatest asset in that endeavor.

About the Authority

ICJIA has a staff of 56 full-time and four contractual employees. ICJIA's operating budget for state fiscal year 2010 is $130,197,875.

The Illinois Criminal Justice Information Authority dates back to 1973, when its predecessor developed information system standards for state and local government units.
