Welcome to the Illinois Criminal Justice Information Authority

Whether you are looking for crime statistics on your community, criminal justice research of state and national scope, or news about federal grants, this site will be a tremendous tool.

In addition to providing easy access to the latest criminal justice news and information, this site opens doors to the Authority's three major areas of operation: research, information systems, and federal and state grants.

The Authority's mission is to improve the administration of criminal justice in Illinois, and we believe an informed and involved public is perhaps our greatest asset in that endeavor.

Our History

The Illinois Criminal Justice Information Authority dates back to 1973, when its predecessor developed information system standards for state and local government units.
