Criminal Sexual Assault Offense Rate
Illinois Uniform Crime Reports (I-UCR) Criminal Sexual Assault offenses reported to police for calendar years 2000 through 2009. Until 1984, rape was defined as the carnal knowledge of a female, forcibly and against her will. On July 1, 1984, Illinois sexual assault laws became gender-neutral and broadened the old concept of rape to include many types of sexual assault which are included in this data (see offenses below). Rates are per 100,000 people using total county populations.
